The owner, Tom Schafer, has dedicated the winery to his father, Maurice Schafer.

The vineyard contains more than 15,000 vines that were planted in May 2006. Varietals include: Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Viognier, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot Varietals. The grapes are on a south-facing slope at 1,400 feet of elevation with an average rainfall of 20 inches per year.
